About
Almost every longevity or wellness service comes with a confident promise attached. Whether the promise holds up is a separate question, and a sales page rarely answers it.
Which promises the evidence supports

Many of these promises are hard to check from the sales page alone. Some services have real evidence behind them, and some are mostly marketing. We write so that a reader can see where the evidence is strong, where it is thin, and where the claim rests on the marketing alone.
Studies first, verdicts second
We read peer-reviewed studies and systematic reviews before judging any claimed benefit. When a claim has no study behind it, we say so. When we cannot tell, we say that too and leave the question open.
Where our own wording gets checked
- Measured wording over excitement.
- Distrust of headline results until the details are checked.
- Plain statements about what is known and what is not.
- Pointing readers to primary sources so they can check our reading.
Evidence quality and the fine print
Our focus is evidence quality, realistic expectations, and the fine print behind headline results. We ask what a headline number actually measures. A result that sounds large can rest on a small group, a short follow-up or a flattering comparison.
Reading from SoHo
We write with readers in SoHo in mind, so the city and state health agencies are a sensible starting point. Encyclopedia entries are background rather than evidence, and two of them describe the city's health and mental hygiene agency and Wikipedia's entry on New York State's health agency. A primary source from a state agency carries more weight: its consumer warning issued after med spa investigations. Read each one and judge it yourself. A link is not an endorsement of every claim on the page.
Every service we cover gets the same method, whoever offers it.
Bringing us a claim to check
Start with the articles closest to what you were offered and read the sources they point to. If there is a service or a claim you want looked at, the booking page is where to write it down.
